The Organic Institute were delighted with the quality of this year’s produce, delivered to The Simon Community warehouse in Chapelizod, Dublin.
We feel very privileged to be in a position to supply this wonderful organisation.
The Simon Community provides support and care, free accommodation and their kitchens feed the homeless and the most vulnerable of our society. They have many centres throughout Ireland and they need the financial support from all sectors of our society to continue this amazing work.
We are presently discussing the possibility of teaching the residents and dependants of Simon, regenerative and organic farming practices. The end game of this project hopefully will result in Simon growing their organic produce for their own kitchens, working with their own dependants. This project has a two tier purpose, which will result in supplying their own organic produce and giving their dependants empowerment and self worth.
A head grower has already been chosen by the Simon Community, and we have started initial training, however, we would expect this project to advance in early spring 2021 and we will keep you posted on our progress.
Below are photos of some of the produce delivered to Simon’s warehouse manager John, and Gary and Evelyn are also inspecting the quality of the produce delivered.
