Our policy is to continue on our quest for knowledge, which brings us to many health and organic farming meetings and conferences, such as the Harmony in Food and Farming conference being held at the Llandovery College in Wales. This conference is being run by the Sustainable Food Trust on the 10th – 11th July 2017. For tickets visit the SFT website.
The modern production of our foods has created a very unhealthy environment, which includes Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) and genetically modified organism animal feeds, pesticides and toxic chemicals, intensive animal and plant based farming practices, all dedicated to achieving the highest possible yields at the lowest possible prices. This has had a very detrimental effect on human health and the health of our planet. We encourage everybody to grow their own organic produce, it is the best way to feed your family and it is great fun for all especially our children. It has been shown by many studies including the IAASTD United Nations report (the largest scientific study in human history, four hundred scientists from fifty eight countries ) and a further study again under the umbrella of the united nations the environment report 2013, which the scientists called wake up before it is too late. Both these studies showed unequivocal evidence that genetically modified organisms with their toxic chemicals and mono-culture farming practices are disastrous for our planet and everything living on it. They also showed that the way to feed the world is through small-scale sustainable organic farming, which supports both human health and the health of our planet.
Our mini school/farms will teach you the best way to grow organic produce in your gardens and apartments balconies etc. And help you get the best yields at very low costs. We are looking for volunteers who have expertise in the growing of organic produce to contact us and for farmers interested in allowing usage of a couple of acres of their land for this wonderful cause. Please donate if you can as we need tools, fencing, seeds etc. We cannot progress without your help.
